I never thought I would be writing about Michael Jackson on this blog, but I have to. Shame on me for not thinking of it before. Michael Jackson came into the spotlight at a very young age. He was a child star without a childhood. He joined his brothers band at age six!
His second solo album Thriller turned out to be the best selling album of all time! He revolutionized pop music like no other. Of course, you already know this don’t you?
I am a 90s child and Michael Jackson was probably the first ever celebrity music artist I knew about. He was my definition of a superstar. Everybody knew who he was. He definitely appealed to me for his dance moves and for his eccentric looks. It was not until I reached my teen years that I started to love his songs.
In 1991 he released Dangerous with ‘Black or White’, ‘Remember the Time’, and ‘Heal the World’ as the released singles. In 1995 he released a double disc album HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book 1 with ‘Scream’ beings its first single. It is known to be the highest selling multiple disc album of all time.
Not only was he a fantastic music artist, he was also a very giving and caring man. In 1992 he founded the ‘Healing the World Foundation’. All profits from his Dangerous World Tour went to the charity.
Michael Jackson was not a 90s man nor was he a 60s man. He entertained the world for over four decades. He was there for it all. That’s why he is THE King of Pop. Legend.
There is no other.
He will never be forgotten. Thank you for your music, Michael Jackson.
